About
Lead Serve Love is a blog which features inspirational stories about the work of individual Christians and Christian ministries transforming the community for the greater glory of God. Its purpose is to highlight how God has touched and changed lives through His servant people and outreach ministries, all so that His Kingdom may come to be on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Lead boldly. Serve every day. Love all the time! is simply another way to say go forth and be like Jesus. Christ followers believe that reaching out to the community where we live, work and play is a way of life. Loving people the way Jesus loves people means serving them and leading them to the One who can meet all their needs. Here you will find stories about Believers doing just that.
I am a sinner
I am a depraved, morally bankrupt wretched sinner through and through. I’ve attended church sporadically most of my life, haven’t spent a minute in seminary and only recently gave the Bible more than a cursory review. I’ve attended exactly one theology class and I dropped out of that.
However, in spite of my moral infidelity, I’ve come to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I’ve learned my salvation isn’t the result of what I do, but rather what Jesus has done on my behalf. I didn’t find the Holy Spirit, He found me. And in our relationship I have invited Him to change me, to use me for His purpose, to conquer my will with His own. Praise the Lord, for even an unworthy, chronic sinner like me can experience and give testimony to His glory!

Answers
I once prided myself believing I had all the answers to life’s most perplexing questions. Older and wiser, and more humble, I see now what foolishness that view was. Now, when I don’t have answers, when I don’t understand, I … Continue reading
Trials, Part 2
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now … Continue reading
All to Him I Owe
I once wrote “because I have a lot of sin to cover” in response to a question about why I do so much missional work. I look back now and see what a misinformed answer that was. I can’t repay … Continue reading
How’s Your Heart?
I remember an annual physical a few years ago in which it was found that my cholesterol was 224. My doctor wanted me to start taking a statin; I resisted, pointing to all my other health indicators and insisting I … Continue reading
Rose Gardens
Something we should always remember is that God never promised us a rose garden, at least not here on Earth (well, there was Eden, but we blew that). Life in this world is going to have its pains and problems. … Continue reading
Jesus Always Wins
Jesus Always Wins The Enemy constantly tries to make us think of ourselves instead of Jesus. The Enemy taunts us with “Your sins are too great to be forgiven; you have no faith; you do not repent enough; you do … Continue reading
Lifted Up
In the old days I was a believer in the guilt and shame philosophy and just knew in my heart that God loved me less because of my sin. But, praise God for opening my eyes, I’ve come to see … Continue reading
Love the Unloved
Love the unloved. I count this passage among the most important threeologies of the book Lead Serve Love: Take great care not to befriend only with those in prosperous and influential places. Remember that Jesus dined with and cared for … Continue reading
