Leadership, Jesus-style

Christ gave us an excellent, lasting example of leadership. He attracted followers, effectively shared his vision with them, and encouraged them to achieve the common goal. And then he sent out the twelve and 72 to continue in the mission even in his physical absence. Christianity survives today because Jesus taught us to be not only messengers, but also leaders in the faith. The Gospel began with Jesus, and it continues with each of us as its witness and exemplar.

True leadership is to follow the example Jesus gave us. Yet for many youth in particular, stepping up to Jesus’ example can be a rather challenging endeavor. Indeed, living like Jesus in any capacity is difficult, particularly in a secular world under the unrelenting burden of peer pressure and cultural influence. In a society where news is shared in short sound bites and even shorter tweets, a similarly brief and approachable resource is needed to share with youth the message and example of Jesus Christ.

Lead Serve Love: 100 Three-Word Ways to Be Like Jesus is a book written to help believers of all ages and stages discover what it means and how to live a Christ-like life. It is a very simple how-to book that relies on one hundred three-word action sentences followed by brief expository paragraphs and Bible references that teach the reader how to act like Jesus. It is not a deep theology read but a down-to-earth, easy to digest book that is part devotional and part instructional which challenges the reader to put the Gospel into action. Lead Serve Love is a practical guide for moving from being a believer in Christ to becoming a true follower patterning one’s life after Christ.

Lead Serve Love is an excellent resource for discipleship and leadership development. Whether studied by individual readers or groups, Lead Serve Love promises not only to inspire one toward a more mature faith, but to take up the mission to bring glory to God so that his kingdom may continue to come through the work of his people.

I invite you to read and share with others Lead Serve Love.

About admin

I am a depraved, morally bankrupt wretched sinner through and through. I’ve attended church sporadically most of my life, haven’t spent a minute in seminary and only recently gave the Bible more than a cursory review. I’ve attended exactly one theology class and I dropped out of that. However, in spite of my moral infidelity, I’ve come to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I’ve learned my salvation isn’t the result of what I do, but rather what Jesus has done on my behalf. I didn’t find the Holy Spirit, He found me. And in our relationship I have invited Him to change me, to use me for His purpose, to conquer my will with His own. Praise the Lord, for even an unworthy, chronic sinner like me can experience and give testimony to His glory!
