Rose Gardens

Something we should always remember is that God never promised us a rose garden, at least not here on Earth (well, there was Eden, but we blew that). Life in this world is going to have its pains and problems. But shouldn’t it? Stop and think about it – if our earthly lives were perfect, what would be our motive and inspiration for seeking our Lord in Heaven? There, and only there, is where perfection can be found. Only there will one find the most glorious rose garden.

Prepare to have bumps and disappointments in this world, this life. Know that others will have their own share of bumps, disappointments and all manner of bad times too. When such times arise, look for the true and lasting comfort that can only come from Him, and equip yourself to be a representative comforter to others for His namesake. Call on Him daily, in times of crisis, pain, disappointment and even in joy. Only He can right the wrongs and smooth the way. Only He can calm troubled waters and still the wind. And only He should be thanked for such favors.

About admin

I am a depraved, morally bankrupt wretched sinner through and through. I’ve attended church sporadically most of my life, haven’t spent a minute in seminary and only recently gave the Bible more than a cursory review. I’ve attended exactly one theology class and I dropped out of that. However, in spite of my moral infidelity, I’ve come to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I’ve learned my salvation isn’t the result of what I do, but rather what Jesus has done on my behalf. I didn’t find the Holy Spirit, He found me. And in our relationship I have invited Him to change me, to use me for His purpose, to conquer my will with His own. Praise the Lord, for even an unworthy, chronic sinner like me can experience and give testimony to His glory!
