What is the secret spot which marks the child of God? We are told this about our Lord, “to as many as received Him, He gave them the power to become the sons of God.” If you have received Christ Jesus into your heart, you are a child of God. If you believe on Jesus Christ’s name, if from your heart you trust the crucified but resurrected Redeemer, then you are a member of the family of the Most High. Whatever else you may not have, if you have this, you have the privilege to become a child of God.
Our Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” Christ appears as a shepherd to His own sheep. As soon as He appears, His sheep recognize Him, trust Him, and are prepared to follow Him. He knows them, and they know Him, there is a mutual knowledge and constant connection between them. Thus the one mark, the sure mark, the infallible mark of salvation is a hearty faith in the Redeemer, Lord Jesus Christ.
Are you in doubt? Are you uncertain you bear the secret mark of God’s children? Don’t let an hour pass until you have said, “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” This is about your soul and its eternal destiny, therefore be in earnest, fill yourself with faith, and inherit an eternity.
