Remember Your Renewal

Remember your renewal.

In Christ you are renewed; by his grace you were restored. Realize your dependence on him and your complete inability to restore yourself. All who come to Christ escape from sin and corruption, but sometimes your old ways resurface and tempt you into sin. When this happens, repent at once and flee to Christ! Do not forget your cleansing. Honor and proclaim the work that Christ has performed in and for you. Remember your renewal.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

If all these things are in you and are growing, they will help you to be useful and productive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who does not have these things cannot see clearly. He is blind and has forgotten that he was made clean from his past sins. 2 Peter 1:8-9

Christ gave you a special gift that is still in you, so you do not need any other teacher. His gift teaches you about everything, and it is true, not false. So continue to live in Christ, as his gift taught you. 1 John 2:27

Those who are God’s children do not continue sinning, because the new life from God remains in them. They are not able to go on sinning, because they have become children of God. 1 John 3:9

About admin

I am a depraved, morally bankrupt wretched sinner through and through. I’ve attended church sporadically most of my life, haven’t spent a minute in seminary and only recently gave the Bible more than a cursory review. I’ve attended exactly one theology class and I dropped out of that. However, in spite of my moral infidelity, I’ve come to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I’ve learned my salvation isn’t the result of what I do, but rather what Jesus has done on my behalf. I didn’t find the Holy Spirit, He found me. And in our relationship I have invited Him to change me, to use me for His purpose, to conquer my will with His own. Praise the Lord, for even an unworthy, chronic sinner like me can experience and give testimony to His glory!

One Response to Remember Your Renewal

  1. Ginny Baker says:

I particularly love Romans 12:2 with it’s emphasis on the spiritual result of the renewing of the mind. Such renewal is, indeed, transformational. We tend to forget the direct link between our mind and our spiritual walk. The mind is not simply the intellectual aspect of ourselves that we feed so that we can boast (or quietly feel proud of) in knowing more. Rather, it is integral to our growth.
